2022 IS A CRITICAL ELECTION YEAR! WHY? WELL, ELECTED POSITIONS THAT MAKE DECISIONS ON DEMOCRACY, ENERGY PRODUCTION, AND LOCAL LAWS ARE UP FOR ELECTION. LIKE THE FOLLOWING RACES:

EVERY REPRESENTATIVE IN OUR NM STATE LEGISLATURE IS UP FOR ELECTION

NM GOVERNOR RACE

IMPORTANT STATE RACES LIKE STATE AUDITOR, ATTORNEY GENERAL, SECRETARY OF STATE, COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC LANDS

IMPORTANT LOCAL RACES, LIKE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, SHERIFFS, ETC
Same Day Voter Registration
Registration deadlines

In person during early voting: Oct 11 - Nov 5

Online: Oct 11

By mail (postmarked by): Oct 11
If you're a new voter, or live in a new location and have not registered, you can do so up until the last day of Early Voting in-person (11/5) or in person at local election office on Election Day!
Go to a polling location in the County where you live. You need 1 of the following:

A NM Driver’s License or NM ID issued through MVD

Any document that contains an address in the County together with a Photo ID

A current valid Student ID from a higher education institution (ex: UNM, St Johns College, etc) in NM AND a current student fee statement that contains your student address in the County you are voting in. For Example, if your student statement says your address is in Bernalillo County (like ABQ) you cannot register to vote in Santa Fe.
To register to vote, you must be:

A U.S. citizen;

A New Mexico resident;

At least 18 years old.
